Michael Angarano, Jason Tripitikas, aka the Seeker in The Forbidden Kingdom, is one of the actors featured in a new GQ photo series from January (thanks Larry!) covering the best new designers!

Angarano had an incredible adventure in China making The Forbidden Kingdom. It was like a master class in martial arts from the masters themselves — Jackie Chan, Jet Li and Yuen Woo Ping.
“The majority of my fight scenes are with Jackie and Jet together. At one point, I actually have to fight Jet. It’s the scariest thing that anybody will every have to do. But they’re the most helpful guys, both of them. They taught me that when you’re fighting, you’re not actually fighting. It’s choreography, like dancing. There are rhythms that you have to hit and don’t actually punch the person. You hold back because you have to do it a lot.”
“They were the greatest guys to have around. Every time I talk about them, I become speechless because I’m grateful that they’re around. The fact that there’s Jackie Chan out there helping people out makes me feel better about the world. What he does is just great. His life is his work and he’s always giving back. The most humane guy you’ll ever meet.”
… what he doesn’t mention is that he also must take on the fiercitude of Li Bingbing…
In addition to learning martial arts from the best of the best to make Forbidden Kingdom, Angarano is getting lots of good reviews for David Gordon Green’s drama Snow Angels. His previous roles were in Man in the Chair, 24, Sky High, Lords of Dogtown, Almost Famous, and quite a few credits for such a young guy. His IMDb is here!
