There have been serious reviews and analysis but no where near the amount of fun has been had than over at Spill.com, where they have given their video review of The Forbidden Kingdom – must watch all the way to the end!
Also, Roeper and Phillips (get well, Roger Ebert!) have also weighed in with their video review. Watch both from the freshly updated Reviews page!
Jet and Jackie: Yin and Yang

Star Online, which published the first extensive story on the production of The Forbidden Kingdom (if you haven’t yet, watch their coverage of the production press conference here, read their first article here, and read their Q&A with Jet Li here), has just posted a new interview with the two superstars that talks about their chemistry together and more about why they made a movie that bridges Western and Eastern culture.
Jackie starts out with a typical Jackie quote:
Chan explained, “Actually, I’ve never liked any of the movies I’ve filmed. Every time I watch them, I realise that there are areas which can be improved upon. To me, that’s how progress can be made as I embark upon my next movie.”
Li, on the other hand, said: “It’s very simple for me. I just wanted to make a movie for my daughter. I hoped it would be one that all the family could sit down happily and watch together during summer. The challenge was to simplify the culture to make it accessible to a general audience.”
